just this one part alone inspired me to make a comic and I thank you for this
*"You feel like you know everything about the world"* It occurred to me at this point that someone could try and argue this song is about 'science' or the vague idea of 'people who push their beliefs as facts' (Though briefly looking at the comments, I didn't see anyone arguing this). I still wanna talk about the idea anyways tho because it's in the morning and I'm amped up on coffee and this song lol. I feel like that idea immediately falls apart because science isn't about establishing strict rules that then ARE NOT ALLOWED TO CHANGE AT ALL, it's about observing the world and trying to figure out how it works (scientific 'laws' are just called laws because we very consistently have found them to hold up, and if they ever get consistently found to be inaccurate, then they get adjusted or discarded). The only people who really see science as a rigid, unchanging thing are people who fetishize the idea of 'science' so that they can feel super smart and reasonable
