Potpourri was a Straight-A man. Sure he was constantly nervous and his coworkers always gave him a heavy workload, heck some may even say he’s the black sheep of the company as seen at -

I've heard it in a few of Nilfruits songs now (the first one I noticed it was HeavenDope), but is that an audio sample of the Dark Souls "slash" sound it plays when you die at seconds?

A small detail I like is that the other employees have heads of corpse lilies. (Flowers that smell horrible and are akin to smell like decaying flesh) which well if you know adds on well with the mv’s message and overall vibe. I have been listening and watching this mv on loop. I will always be your fan! Thank you for another great mv!
just a little thing and I don't know if its part of the artstyle or if its intentional for the story they're telling, but at I just see little "no"'s across the hair :,D
Also at in the Nico Nico Version, the scenes with Noman is replaced with Nicole picking up his knife, however on Twitter Niru has a gif that shows both in the same sequence via his【Thank you for waiting】post————————————————————
edit: also, at I kinda feel like the rhythm changes a bit to reference the previous songs "Yesman" and "Hungry Nicole"

He continues his day to day until he stumbles upon a news article at featuring what looks to be Noman giving the media the bird for his crimes (in the NND version the ad displays Nicole instead), this naturally would freak him out and messes up his work area, but also draws eyes on him

YAYYY ANOTHER MESSED UP KORON GUY FOR THE FAMILY!! You can see Nicole pop up on screen at , where I am sure there is a totally normal extended family dynamic going on here
and in here, it shows the pig lady from "hungry nicole" I still need to look back at the video more to see if anything from "franken X" shows up as it's also in the "monster" playlist which has this song and the two other songs previously mentioned :)
: at this is probably the only thing I can think of which can possibly relate to "franken X", but only vaguely by the visuals :,)

At in the right hand corner the characters name is Potpourri which is a mixture of dried, naturally fragrant plant materials used to provide a gentle natural scent, commonly in residential settings which probably has a lot to do with the “cancelling scent lyrics” and the fact that he’s placed in a bouquet garni that is herbs usually paired with soup

hehe little easter eggs are always appreciated like the stickers in the background
By this point nothing is working, his aromas and teas can’t block out such things forever, in fact they’ve made things worse as it mixed with his environment giving him further anxiety hence the emphasis on awful smells or the “Deodorant Zone” as Niru and a couple of Japanese comments pointed out at (I recommend looking at timed comments for a fantastic explanation on Niru’s wordplay!)
we see MW and Anne stare into one anothers eyes because Anne was telling MW that she trusted them to gouge out her eyes for the formula since there needed to be DNA form a creature, and likely living creature (in this case a human) to complete it.
The full backstory is that MW was an escaped experiment that had been injured and found by Anne, as seen during the news report of Santa Teresa at . Although reluctent MW and Anne learn to live together and while Anne falls in love with MW, MW falls in love with singing and dancing
, as its very self congratulatory and quickly devolved into self depreciation, and seeing visions of Anne hits MW's breaking point. The reason? MW is going through deep levels of imposter syndrome combined w/ the guilt of leaving Anne, and it doesnt help that the elixir Anne cooked up to intentionally gives her striking similarities to Anne--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the Nico Nico Douga version of the mirror scene at , MW reverts back to their monster form showing also that MW cant fully escape from what they are adding that they feel self hatred, combined with the Youtube version the mirror scene is indicative that MW's uses the Teresa persona to justify that Anne wanted this and was ok with being abandoned which obvious doesnt work as ill explain below
the worms at are horsehair worms, which are parasitic worms that infect mantises and "possess" them to drown themselves in bodies of water to complete the parasite's reproductive cycle. very awesome biologically accurate yuri from nilfruits. thank you yuri jesus 👍
Now the real meat of the story and that involves Anne. If you're paying attention up to this point of the MV, outside of the intro, we do not see a present version of Anne. We see hazy, pastel visions of Anne and the one shot we do see of present Anna at has her head turned. Many would assume is that Anne had died, but in reality present Anne is now blind
