HE'S IN A COMA PROBABLY. The flashing image frames can prove this. The first is in the beginning of the MV where it flashes various images one shows the heart monitor. The other frames him being in a water tank connected to many cables. The second group of flashing images at , there is a girl in front of a bus but the main guy looks to be pushing her to be the side to prevent from getting hit.The frame after shows the girl he saved crying (the one with the bunny head) and then quickly flashes to three kids (seemingly crying)away from a pool of blood BUT the main character's hand is outreached toward them.When he falls into the water area with the monster that could be his "death" trying to get him but he escapes. Basically he's about to die but the medics stabilize him because MC refers to it as a "day game", so it has happened before. But then there are also a few cryptic things he says,"somewhere in a ruined city thousand years away.It's not like my scars will remain there.",he's talking about reality and how his injuries are healing. Or doesn't even realize that his in a coma because of this lyric ,"without even knowing the meaning of this drowned dream", his head replicates everything he had in the real world. Like the kids with the animal heads,those kids were his friends. He doesn't look much older than them either so he could easily believe it.
