The anime kept appearing as recommendations on my Netflix. Like forever! I thought I must watch it, but work kept me busy and all, and I wasn’t able to. I spent hectic days. Before I knew it, three months had passed. Oh, it’s the new year, I thought.I listen to music on YouTube Music when I go out, the other day when I was out, Uru-san’s Ambivalent came on. What a great song, I thought. I googled it and found out it was the theme song to the anime. I said to myself. This is it! This is the moment I should watch the anime!! It’s now or never! And I started watching it, and I couldn’t stop, I watched the all episodes available at once. Non-stop. Time flew. Time melted away. (Matthew laughs.)The protagonist Maomao is an apothecary. She prepares medicines. Things happened and Maomao ended up working at the rear palace of the Imperial Palace. She meets the eunuch Jjinsi-sama who is in a high position. The story evolves in whatever ways… You know the story is of course very interesting. (The caption says “Of course, it is”) But the animation drawings are superb! It’s extremely beautiful. The heroine Maomao has freckles on her face. She calls herself ugly in the story. (The caption explains the word “shikome” meaning ugly-looking woman.) There is a scene in the story where Maomao puts on make-up. The made-up Maomao is so cute! (Caption says “The name Maomao is cute as well, don’t you think?”) They say girls are transformed by makeup. It was so true for Maomao. Jinshi-sama saw Maomao with makeup on, and he sort of swooned. I put on some makeup for this video shoot. When I put on makeup, I feel stronger. Like I became a new me. You know, I recently debuted as a V-tuber. I used to be just “Matthew”, but I renamed myself “Matthew Shiragami” with a surname. This is the V-tuber image of myself. I’m working with this body.
