The wings foreshadow that they are all dead except the girl, (for that moment I thought they are actually in heaven, but then I saw the girl without the wings). The happy moment where everyone accompany the girl to the final destination comes to an end when the angel's power runs out. Eventually, all that power transforms to a fruit that symbolizes/represents all the hope they have held.
