Guchiry mentions him wondering if it was just a hallucination after surviving a near death experience that allowed him to attend the Midnight Ball. But he is also one of the characters who appears alongside the ghosts in Schadenfreude and Rainy Girl, so maybe his presence there was significant enough/Guchiry changed his mind and made him dead, because he mentions being afraid of the Guchiry Wiki since it makes it hard for him to edit his lore easily. And add that to the fact that Mitsuru and Haruki are having trouble finding Crown immediately in a modern time where they have cell phones (shown in Gray Sea and Schadenfreude) and literal photos of what he looks like in the news. I know this is not possible due to lore reasons, but hear me out: Haruki and Crown look similar because of their short turquoise hair that covers one eye. It would have been cool if at one point during the MV Haruki revealed himself to have been Crown all along by flipping his hair and showing that he has heterochromia (right eye blue, left eye yellow) since Haruki's right eye is blue and Crown's left eye is yellow.
