I relate to this song a lot - my take is that this is a workaholist who has too much work at hand, and instead of focusing on their mental health, they try channeling an imaginative figure to wring more energy out of themselves - to work just a bit more. You can see them working into the night at , along with several work-related things such as a calendar with a marked deadline. Later, they fight a person who they seem to have as an inspiration or goal in terms of animation and success - but as the song progresses, this facade fails to keep up, as seen by them being eaten up by another imaginative creature, and afterwards showing their real self's clearly-ill and burnt-out figure looking back at themselves in the mirror.
Omg the traffic jam characters at I love this mv so much its full of personality and litle details that make me want to pause every 0.5 seconds.

though you can see this through the whole mv really). they manage to get a big crowd and make designs and all that. but then, the model gets sick of it, and realizes they don't want to let their childhood dream die and spoil themself like this instead of working on it themself (
for this mv's "story", my personal guess so far is that, maybe, the runaway model was very frustrated with their work despite it being their childhood dream, and used a magic amulet as solution (you can see them buying it in ); since the lyrics mention being a jiangshi and jiangshis are spirits controlling dead bodies, i'll guess that the amulet makes a spirit (the one with the red stripes under the eyes) possess them and work for them - the spirit loves it, finding it fun and being able to work just well (3,12. the spirit flies away happily, then tells them "don't let dreams end in an instant" (

(i think this is especially visible in the part their younger self in the photography asks "are you going to disappear from this world without being remembered?")). they break the amulet and the spirit is released, and you can see the model smiling in
(I especially love animation on . It's just so cool)

Bakui is unbelievable. There is one instant at that I felt like the character jumped out from the screen... It's incredibly lively and her characters always have a hysteric, mysterious freedom with them. Stunning works. Every day I love her more and more!
), supporting them on working on their dreams and ending on a good note. :)maybe i'm misinterpreting things, but this is what i have so far! absolutely love this song
we see MW and Anne stare into one anothers eyes because Anne was telling MW that she trusted them to gouge out her eyes for the formula since there needed to be DNA form a creature, and likely living creature (in this case a human) to complete it.
The full backstory is that MW was an escaped experiment that had been injured and found by Anne, as seen during the news report of Santa Teresa at . Although reluctent MW and Anne learn to live together and while Anne falls in love with MW, MW falls in love with singing and dancing
, as its very self congratulatory and quickly devolved into self depreciation, and seeing visions of Anne hits MW's breaking point. The reason? MW is going through deep levels of imposter syndrome combined w/ the guilt of leaving Anne, and it doesnt help that the elixir Anne cooked up to intentionally gives her striking similarities to Anne--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the Nico Nico Douga version of the mirror scene at , MW reverts back to their monster form showing also that MW cant fully escape from what they are adding that they feel self hatred, combined with the Youtube version the mirror scene is indicative that MW's uses the Teresa persona to justify that Anne wanted this and was ok with being abandoned which obvious doesnt work as ill explain below
the worms at are horsehair worms, which are parasitic worms that infect mantises and "possess" them to drown themselves in bodies of water to complete the parasite's reproductive cycle. very awesome biologically accurate yuri from nilfruits. thank you yuri jesus 👍
Now the real meat of the story and that involves Anne. If you're paying attention up to this point of the MV, outside of the intro, we do not see a present version of Anne. We see hazy, pastel visions of Anne and the one shot we do see of present Anna at has her head turned. Many would assume is that Anne had died, but in reality present Anne is now blind
