"The sadness of coming upon a dead end; the surprise when the bottom gives way; the suffocation.""The sadness of coming upon a dead end" would be the reason for suicide, the dead end in life."the surprise when the bottom gives way" you don't hang yourself every day so I guess how it is must be surprising"the suffocation." well..yeah.Of course I'm just a random dude who likes this music and looked at this line after reading the theories about suicide in the comments, so take this with a grain of salt.I have no experience in reading/speaking Japanese and I can't read the context so again, don't accept what I'm saying as-is.
Hirokazu Ando
pages full of the romaji of this song trying learn and the rest and it's so hard 😨😰😔😢
The line “I ascend, then descend, descend, descend, and keep on descending some more.” Makes me think of how when one gets to the state of where they feel like they’re getting better and suddenly everything just spirals downwards, the line “this strange horizon is just like how it was back when I was alive” is like how when you’re in a deep depression you feel like everything is ‘repetitive’ or that nothing changes if that makes sense? And how it goes to “let’s suffer within this infinite maze” as in being stuck/lost, feeling as if you’ll be in that mindset forever, the next line being “the sadness of coming upon a dead end; the surprise when the bottom gives way; the suffocation” would be as giving up (perhaps su!c!de). On the line “as I plod along, avoiding the odorless and colorless concrete slabs” it also ties a connection to depression in how when you’re in that deep depression, you feel as if you can’t feel anything, youre deprived of your senses/life being drained of color. “The floor gave way again, I woke up, out of breath” makes me think of a failed attempt at su!c!de. Anyways, I’m not going to do a whole analysis on this as I’m writing this at am, but if you’d like to hear more about my ‘theory’ just comment :D
NPC ahh walkSeriously tho the animation and the song is really good!
I feel so high
oh also at I see a O Light reference. hehe~
"A world where the 3000 entrances and 49 exits are revolving" i find it notable how there's so many entrances but so little exits, and the character is struggling to find them. if we're going with the theory that this song is about dealing with mental health issues, its a great metaphor for how so many things can lead to you havin various mental issues, but it can be so hard to find ways to dig out of it.
exits, which are mentioned at , lead to different afterlives. The ghost is trapped i9n the maze because they're unable to find the exit.
辺りのサビっぽい所で出てくるやつがせがれいじりっぽい
Is that a blurry Ghostbusters sign in the background?
did nobody else notice the ghostbusters symbol at ?

Rolling girl

The connection to O Light can also be seen at with the same jellyfish that was in O Light's vid.
Oh!! At , the jellyfish from O Light appears! I think the two songs are both about the different sides to depression: misery and sadness, in O Light, and helpless apathy, in this song.
look like the jellyfish from O Light
I really like the theories in this comment section, and I might add maybe she had a chronic illness that made her stuck in a hospital. At she talked about how she rather than not being able to move she would like to move in a hallow world, and the sterile white rooms and her gown I’d like to think this purgatory of a afterlife she’s having is coming from her own mind, or maybe a last living thought she would have like a twisted daydream. For her she might’ve been in the hospital for her whole life and has gotten tired of living the same day over and over again, but now that she has “died” she can explore this maze all she wants, while slowly noticing the irony as she is still moving in the literal sense but hasn’t moved anywhere closer to escaping this maze. In hindsight it seems like a carrot on a stick, but it might be that since she’s been in a “hospital” her whole life she wouldn’t even know what an exit would even look like. It is also an ironic coincidence that she might’ve even taken her own life because of the same monotony she tried to escape.
Yeah, I agree, in a part of the video () we can see her choking, like if she’s running out of oxygen
her voice sounds so fucking hot here
