こんにちは、日本では夏です。クソ暑いです。
8/16はお盆の最終日です。お盆の最終日には、送り火を焚いて先祖を見送るそうです。
うちの家は、お坊さんが最後に棚経へ訪れる家でしたので、彼の夕飯も用意します。お坊さんに出す料理なので精進料理です。
自分は8/16が誕生日でしたので、なんだか不思議な気分でした。自分の誕生日会は前日か後日かに開いて、当日はお坊さんが来てお経を唱えて火を焚いて。
まあ、そんな幼少期の思い出があります。
8/16に、初めてのワンマンライブ「おくりいぬ」を開催します。

Hello from Japan, where it’s summer right now—and ridiculously hot.
August 16 is the final day of Obon, a Japanese Buddhist custom honoring our ancestors. On that day, people traditionally light *okuribi*, farewell fires meant to see the spirits of their ancestors off.
My family’s house was always the last stop for the Buddhist priest making his Obon visits, so we would prepare dinner for him as well. Since it was a meal for a monk, we served *shojin ryori*, traditional Buddhist vegetarian cuisine.
August 16 also happens to be my birthday, so growing up, that day always felt a little strange to me.
We would celebrate my birthday either the day before or the day after. On the actual day, the priest would come to our house, chant sutras, and we would light the farewell fire.
That’s one of the memories I have from my childhood.
And this August 16, I’ll be holding my very first solo concert, **“Okuri-inu.”**
