This song as a whole is full of wordplay, starting at with "だまってまってたんだ/damatte matteta nda". Damatte is from verb damaru, meaning to be quiet/say nothing, and matteta is from verb matsu, meaning to wait. However, in the subtitles, there's a pause after the "da" disappears but before the "ta nda" appears, emphasizing the "matte" all by itself. While matte in the waiting sense is infinitely more common, it's worth noting that it can also mean "to dance; to whirl (in the wind); to flutter (about); to swirl; to fly; to circle; to wheel", and it's spelled in hiragana here, leaving the specific meaning ambiguous, and, by this pause in the subtitles, that effect is emphasized. The following word, wadakamatte, seems to keep to this ambiguity as well as the repetition of matte, as it is from verb wadakamaru, which can either mean "to be harboured (of negative feelings or thoughts); to be rooted in one's mind; to lurk" or "to coil; to curl around;to become tangled (e.g. of roots)".
At , the subtitles flicker between "逆光に揺れて" and "逆行に揺れて", both read as "gyakkou ni yurete". When written as "逆光", gyakkou means "backlit", and when written as "逆行", gyakkou means "backwards movement", meaning this line both refers to a flickering backlight and something swinging backwards.
At , "あおいー！あおいー！" is rearranged into "相生 愛を！ーー愛を！". The original line would have just been Akane shouting Aoi's name twice, but that happens to share syllables with "aioi, ai o ai o", "相生/aioi" meaning "growing up together", "愛を/ai o" meaning "love" (followed by the particle indicating the direct object of an action, action not specified.)

The rush of phonetically similar lyrics at starts as "手と手とって/te to te totte/hand in hand", then becomes "たどって/tadotte", from verb tadoru, meaning "to follow (a road, path, etc.)" or, interestingly, "to retrace (e.g. one's memory)". This then becomes "かたどって/katadotte", from verb katadoru, meaning "to model (something) on; to be modelled on; to be made in the shape of; to take the shape of; to imitate" or "to symbolize; to represent" (including the full list of definitions here, even though I usually try to cut them down a bit, because I find this word choice interesting). It then super briefly switches to "象って" for a second before reverting back, which I guess makes sense given 象って is just the kanji form of かたどって. I'm not sure what to make of this, because katadotte has no homophones that could introduce a double meaning into this line, at least not that I know of, or can find. I looked up 象る同音異義語 (katadoru douonigigo, literally just katadoru homophone) and all I got was 模る, which Jisho and goo辞書 are both telling me is just a different way of writing the same word. Perhaps it's to represent how one sister died when she was young, but the other gets to grow up? Jisho is telling me this kanji is taught in grade 5, though. Maybe 象る and 模る have slightly different nuances I have no way of picking up on?

This is not linguistics related, but I find kind of funny. The combination of metallic rattling followed by the sound of a carbonated drink opening tells me it was probably originally meant to sound like rattling change for the vending machine, but Yokanko decided to interpret it as inexplicable stones(?) for the PV, and I think that's beautiful. The flowers at the beginning of the video and at appear to be (at least, to me) gladioli. These have a lot of associated meanings that I'm sure we're all familiar with, but in hanakotoba (Japanese flower language) specifically, they symbolize secret meetings, victory (most familiar association for us), vigilance, and, perhaps most relevant to this song, forgetfulness and oblivion.
, Akane says "見っけ/mikke", which essentially just means "found you!". If you know this word, it's likely the more formal and complete form "見つける/mitsukeru", but this form of the word is specifically children's language. The Kotonoha sisters appear to have been quite young at the time of the accident.
The text on the left side of the sign (from our perspective) at reads "みらい/mirai/future", the right side reads "かこ/kako/past". The girls run towards the future after Akane ran through the past.
The exchange at reads "迷子！/maigo!" "世迷言？/yomaigoto?" "My God..." "My God?". "迷子/maigo" means missing child, and "世迷言/yomaigoto" means nonsense, one word pleasingly nested within the other.
At , the time motif reappears with "昨日はもう夢の中/kinou wa mou yume no naka/Yesterday is already in a dream", "明日は星の彼方/asu wa hoshi no kanata/Tomorrow is beyond the stars", and "だから今日を浮かれ歩くステップで「帰ろう」/dakara kyou o ukare aruku suteppu de "kaerou"/So, today, let's walk home with a spring in our step" (I'm actually not 100% sure that "kaerou" is a part of this sentence, but you get the idea).

The word originally referred a raised footpath in between fields of rice specifically, but the modern usage seems to have broadened to include any sort of road or pathway surrounded by a field on both sides, and in this song is assumedly referring to a path or road the Kotonoha sisters would take home, probably after school, the lyrics going from "こだまする畦道/echoing throughout the roadway" to "いつもと同じ畦道/The same path (home) we always took".
