She only now sees the wounds she has inflicted herself when the child runs to the other's side, scared. The child departs, being taken away for their own safety, and she is left alone.Now she realizes truly what she had done and i believe she either;1. Regresses to her own childhood memories of being called a 'useless child', represented by the colorful childlike kanji, thus a cycle of generational trauma. She calls herself the useless child that inflicted all the pain she wanted to so desperately forget (my favorite theory!)2. Starts to ponder on how she feels now and how her child must have felt then3. As another stated, she maybe reads a diary of his from his childhood where she sees how all the words she told him were never forgotten.

I am still a child but this lyric "that child is no longer here, nobody can save me" I was forced to grow up.. and no one wants to save me..
I like how this line can have two different meanings; that the child the narrator raised has left them, or that the narrator’s inner child is dead.
